Hartlepool Northern Studios and Production Village

Our involvement in this fantastic project comprises RV Eng providing civil and structural engineering services to enable the refurbishment of
a) The Northern TV Studios
b)Ten interesting buildings — some listed — within the centre of Hartlepool
The level of intervention on each of the buildings varies from a light touch approach that will create a blank canvas for future tenants to a complete, comprehensive refurbishment of the Grade II listed Shades building on Church Street.
The value of the works on the overall scheme is in the region of £15M, with individual budgets for each building ranging from £500k to £3.5M.
Our participation in each part of the scheme shows our diverse skills and ability to consider the complete refurbishment of entire listed buildings to the simpler works that are limited to ensuring the buildings are robust, safe and structurally sound to allow a shell and core to be handed to a future tenant for them to adapt/fit out.
Working with Leonard Design Architects, Time & Space, and Stace, we are central to the design team that has submitted this comprehensive scheme for planning, which anticipates approval in September 2025 and has construction/implementation scheduled for 2026/27.
